A World Without "The State"
A World Under God's Law

There are two kinds of non-Christian anarchists.

• There are those anarchists who are anti-State because they view the State as the enemy of the forces of civilization which man must cultivate if he is to live together in harmony with others. Sometimes called "paleo-libertarians," Murray Rothbard and Lew Rockwell might be the best-known of such anarchists.
• There are those anarchists who oppose the State because they don't want the State imposing its view of civilization on them, a conservative view of civilization which in many respects parallels that of the anarchists above. All too often these radical individualist anarchists fit the description of what most people fear when they hear the word "anarchist." They cultivate rudeness and outrage. They resort to violence and industrial sabotage. They tend to be insolent and anti-social.
• There are, of course, almost as many different kinds of anarchists as there are different anarchists.

If you are one of those "paleo-libertarians," you will almost fully support Christian Anarchists because they are working for the same goals as you. Perhaps this website will help you become more open to the idea of becoming a Christian (once you realize that the Bible does not proclaim an anti-libertarian message).

If you like The Anarchist Cookbook, and threw rocks through the windows at Starbucks in Seattle, you will not be impressed by the fact that Christian Anarchists are opponents of the New World Order. Your moral bent is lacking in the humane respect for others, and even for traditions that aren't consistently libertarian. All we're hoping of you is that you come to the conclusion that Christian Anarchists can be useful allies in the fight against the Warfare State.

It's a long page, with a lot of links, but it could be the antidote to the New World Order, which in our day is passively supported by so many who claim to be Christians.

Please be patient with Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson and their followers. They could, with just a little encouragement, become Christian Anarchists. Certainly the next generation of their followers will be just a nudge away. Offensive rhetoric and shock street theatre will only galvanize them against anarchism and confuse them into continued support for the Bush-Clinton-Cheney regime.

If you don't have the time for the details of our argument, here is a ten-paragraph summary of our reasons why Christians should be Anarchists. The more arguments you master, the more effective you will be at persuading Christians to become anarchists.

1. In the Garden of Eden there was the Family. "The State" did not exist. Vine & Fig Tree is a Biblical phrase which speaks of a day when we beat "swords into plowshares" and every family holds their property without fear of conquest. The Prophet Micah speaks of this day: when Edenic conditions will be restored throughout the earth. This means the disappearance of "the State."
2. All human beings are created in families. Patriarchy is an inescapable concept. If the Christian pater does not train his family in the Ways of Peace, he will be oppressed by a “paternalistic” State. The Family is the basic social unit of a prosperous society.
3. The Institution called "The State" is unBiblical. It reflects rebellion against God's Law.
4. Obedience to Biblical Law nurtured through the Family eliminates tyranny, protects property.
5. The whole history of man as recorded in the Bible is the history of sinful rebellion against society as created in the Garden of Eden, and the construction of institutions based on Humanistic power: coercion and violence. It is the history of Politics vs. Patriarchy.
6. One reason many of these Christians don't actively work for Micah's Vine & Fig Tree society is that they believe God has predestined the world to get worse and worse. This is an unBiblical view.
7. A second reason many Christians don't actively work for Micah's Vine & Fig Tree society is that they believe God has "ordained" the State, and that God commands us to have a State, and abolishing the State would be contrary to His will. This too is an unBiblical view. It begins with an erroneous interpretation of Paul's Letter to the Romans.
