The Christmas Conspiracy and Taxes

Many people suspect that The Christmas Conspiracy! is just an excuse to get out of paying taxes. They assume this is just another “tax protest” by selfish people who don't want to pay "their fair share."

I believe in contributing to the community. I think I've demonstrated a willingness to sacrifice my own prosperity for the good of others. I've sacrificed an above-average income potential (as a USC grad who passed the California Bar Exam) to preserve the values that made America great.

As a follower of Christ, I believe in paying taxes, but not levying them. Jesus said when they ask for your money, “Give to him who asks.” The Hebrews were told, “You rejoiced in the spoiling (raiding, pirating) of your goods” (Hebrews 10:34). Bottom line: “Resist not the evil one” (Matthew 5:41). If any member of The Christmas Conspiracy! goes to jail it will not be for withholding money the government wants to seize. Members of The Christmas Conspiracy! give the government whatever it asks for.

The problem comes when a follower of the Christmas King tells the government that it has no right to seize property, and tells other Americans that the government is acting unethically, immorally and unconstitutionally. The sad fact is, you can’t give the Emperor enough of your money to make him happy after you point out to others that the Emperor has no clothes.

If you’re not brave enough to say “The Emperor has no clothes,” you won’t be brave enough to join The Christmas Conspiracy!
