God has given human beings rights, according to the Declaration
of Independence. Animals do not have rights. Trees do not have rights.
The Creator Who gave human beings rights has the right to command human
beings to care for animals (Proverbs
12:10) and trees (Deuteronomy
20:19). "Animal rights" should not serve as a pretext for
expanding the power of the State and limiting the rights of human beings.
Bad laws are often a result of bad philosophy.

'rights' and the new man haters -- Ayn Rand Institute
- "The animal 'rights' movement is not about the humane treatment
of animals. Its goal is the animalistic treatment of human
beings."
