How to "Personalize" a Verse

The task is simple.

The rewards are profound.

"Personalizing Scripture" means taking God's Word and applying it to yourself by re-phrasing it in the first person singular. (For you government-school graduates, "first person singular" means using words like "I," "me," and "mine.")

Here is an easy example:

God's Word

My Personalization

"Thou shalt not kill." "I will not kill."
"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:6
"Knowing this, that my old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that from now on I should not be the slave of sin.
