"Personalizing Scripture" means taking God's Word and applying it to yourself
by re-phrasing it in the first person singular. (For you government-school graduates, "first
person singular" means using words like "I," "me," and "mine.")
Here is an easy example:

My Personalization

"Thou shalt not kill." |
"I will not kill." |
"Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him,
that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:6 |
"Knowing this, that my old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin
might be destroyed, that from now on I should not be the slave of sin. |
