Kevin, I suspect that we both disagree with what he says about state

for my part, I also disagree with what he says about continuity

but the big thing is what he means by "obedience"

1. like the Pharisee, he says thank god that he is not like that other guy who doesn't obey

2. How much obedience is enough? A little bit more? What happened to God's perfect standard? Does grace mean that God makes up the difference with animal sacrifices
in  the OT and with Christ's blood in the NT?

3. Most basic, he says nothing about the gospel of election and imputation, so that all sinners are in one of two states, those being in an unjustified state unable to obey at all (there never being any "common grace", and no blessings based on obedience for unjustified but covenanted folk in the nc economy) . Those in a justified state know that their obedience is accepted because their motivate is not to maintain state or to gain any blessing, since they have all that already by means of the imputed righteousness. They walk from being justified, not to being justified.
